ST. LAWRENCE (K) 65, GEORGIAN 29

The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team wrapped up a tough weekend by falling to the St. Lawrence–Kingston Vikings 65-29 at the Georgian Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Grizzlies were even with the Vikings early but Georgian's offence ran out of steam in the second quarter after playing their second game in less than 24 hours. With the game 24-19 for St. Lawrence, the Vikings capitalized on the Grizzlies scoring 12-unanswered points to end the half with a 38-19 lead.

The Vikings carried that momentum right into the second half going on a 14-2 run to open the half and never looked back.

The story of the game was the play of Vikings freshman Jessica Cetoute who was dominant at both ends of the court. The Ottawa native scored 21 points and added 21 total rebounds controlling the rim at both ends.

Grizzlies' freshman Mikeala Weir led the team with six points in just over 20 minutes of play while fellow freshman Lauren LaSalle finished with three points and a team-high eight rebounds.

The women's team will next head to Centennial this Wednesday, Nov. 7 when they face the Colts at 6 p.m.
