FANSHAWE 52, MOHAWK 34

The Fanshawe women's basketball team played host to the Mohawk Mountaineers on Wednesday night at the Glenn Johnston Athletics Centre.

The Falcons jumped out to a 24-5 first quarter lead, on their way to a 52-34 win. The victory improved the Falcons record to 9-2 on the season.

Throughout the first half the Falcons had strong outside shooting and offensive rebounding, leading to a 29-21 halftime score.

A quick bucket to start the third quarter got Mohawk to within six points, but that was as close as they would get on the night. Fanshawe pulled away in the fourth quarter enroute to the 18-point victory.

Felicia Mazerolle led the Falcons in scoring with 11 points and added six assists and six rebounds. Carrisa Browne was Mohawk's top scorer on the night, putting up eight points and adding six rebounds.

The Falcons will travel to Sarnia on January 23, for their next game against the Lambton Lions (4-6).
