DURHAM 65, GEORGIAN 43

With a big home crowd on hand the Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball game against the visiting Durham Lords, Georgian was looking to gain their first win of the OCAA season.

Thanks to the strong play of a couple of Durham's finest it wasn't to be.

Kayla Marshall scored 16 while Kelsey Hare had a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Lords who outmatched the Grizzlies.

Trailing 39-20 at the half, the Grizzlies put up a solid third quarter scoring 16 points but it was too little too late for Georgian losing in the end 65-43.

Kasey Faulkner had a team-high 11 points for the Grizzlies while Agnes Bartosik had 10 points in a little over 16 minutes of play.

Ball control was an issue for the Grizzlies as the Lords won the rebound battle 58-35.

The Grizzlies will continue to move forward and get prepared for their next opponent the Centennial Colts who will visit the Georgian Athletic Centre Friday, January 25 at 6 p.m.
