ST. CLAIR 87, REDEEMER 62

St. Clair (9-6) defeated Redeemer (4-11) by a score of 87-62.

The Saints came out firing shooting nearly 60 percent from the field in the first half leading 24-18 after the first quarter, and then extended their advantage to 53-36 at the half-time intermission.

Redeemer did not throw in the towel and scored the first 14 points of the second half cutting the deficit to just three points. St. Clair answered with 13 unanswered points as the teams played even in the third quarter. The difference in the game proved to be St. Clair's 32 points off 36 Redeemer turnovers.
 
Bienka Jones (Tecumseh, Ont.) scored a game-high 24 points for the Saints adding eight rebounds, six assists and an impressive 9 steals. Jaide Lyons (Windsor, Ont.) played her best game of the season scoring 22 points while nationally ranked scorer Kendyl Rizea (Windsor, Ont.) nearly equaled her season average with 17 points to go with eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocked shots.

Kelly Rizea (Windsor, Ont.) rounded out the double digit scorers for the Saints who chipped in with 11 points and six assists. Redeemer's Jesseca Brown had 20 points in a losing cause.   
 
The Saints women's basketball team will host Mohawk (Hamilton) on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in their final home regular season game of the season with tip time at 6 p.m.
