FANSHAWE 90, REDEEMER 60

The Fanshawe Falcons defeated the Redeemer Royals 90-60 on Wednesday night. The Falcons are ranked 15th in the CCAA rankings with a 14-2 record.

Three first quarter three-pointers from Janine DeLeon had the Falcons up 24-16 at the end of the opening quarter. The second year guard from Guelph is now 11-of-16 from behind the arc in her last four games.

The Falcons outscored Redeemer 16-3 in the second to take a 40-19 lead at halftime. Fanshawe's strong offensive rebounding and fast transition game continued in the second half leading to the dominant victory.

Natasha Amo had 17 points to lead the Falcons in scoring and Allison Deblaire added a season-high 16. Jesseca Brown led the Royals with 16 points and six rebounds.

The Falcons will look to carry their momentum into their matchup for first place with the Algoma Thunderbirds on Saturday night. Algoma is currently ranked sixth in the CCAA rankings and are one game ahead of the Falcons in the OCAA West Division standings.
