FANSHAWE 84, REDEEMER 57

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons women's basketball team continued their winning streak with an impressive win over the Redeemer Royals. The final score was 84-57.

The Falcons moved the ball around well and took an early lead over the Royals. The game started with a big three-point basket from Braedyn Ferguson. Fanshawe continued to shoot well from the outside, knocking down a number of long jumpers. Stephanie Antwi drew a big offensive foul near the end of the first quarter, giving the Falcons some momentum. Fanshawe led by six going into the second 15-11.

The Falcons did a great job offensively, getting the ball inside and putting it up strong underneath the basket. After Laura Vere hit a nice reverse lay-up, the Falcons took their first double digit lead of the game. The Royals knocked down a pair of baskets but the Falcons still led 39-30 at the half. Vere was the points leader for the Falcons with nine points.

The Falcons came out hot entering the second half, outscoring the Royals 27-13 in the third. The Falcons continued to dominate in the final quarter of play, being aggressive on the defensive end. Fanshawe outscored the Royals in every quarter, winning by a final score of 84-57.

Next up, the Falcons are on the road to take on the Niagara Knights (1-1) on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
