SHERIDAN 58, ST. CLAIR 56

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team lost a tight game at home Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex to Sheridan College (Brampton, Ont.) by a score of 58-56 dropping their OCAA West Region record to 3-4.

With five lead changes in the contest neither team was able to open a double digit lead. Sheridan took control in the early stages and led 29-20 just prior to halftime. The Saints trailed 30-24 at the break and continued their run to start the second half taking their largest lead at 37-32 midway through the third quarter.

St. Clair held a tenuous lead into the fourth quarter but Sheridan managed to tie the game making some tough baskets inside. With a chance to win the game in the final minute the Saints could not convert. But Sheridan found their way to the basket with just three seconds to play as game-high scorer Shylanda Saunders (Dartmouth, N.S.) scored the biggest bucket of her 27 points.

St. Clair's Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) scored 25 points including six triples adding 10 rebounds and five assists. Saints post Nicole Tamm (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) scored nine points with seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
