TURNBULL HIRED AS ST. LAWRENCE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL HEAD COACH

KINGSTON, Ont. - St. Lawrence College is pleased to announce the hiring of experienced international professional basketball player Taryn Turnbull as head coach of the varsity women's basketball program beginning Fall 2019.

"Taryn brings a wealth of playing experience at a very high level and we are thrilled to have her lead the women's basketball program into the next chapter," said Kevin Biggs, Manager of Athletics and Student Engagement at St. Lawrence College. "Being a former student-athlete from the NCAA, Taryn completely understands the balance needed for varsity athletes to be successful in the classroom and on the court."

Turnbull, a Kingston, Ont., native, is excited to join as head coach after a successful professional career in Germany and Scotland where she was an eight-time League All-Star and Team Leading Scorer. "I am pleased to be joining the St. Lawrence women's basketball program. I look forward to mentoring these young women at this stage in their lives," said Turnbull. "As a team, we will further their basketball skills, while helping to ensure a positive college experience."

Behind the bench, Taryn's experience includes various coaching and training positions with local leagues and organizations, including years of personal training experience and working with young athletes.
