While Queens held the lead for majority of the game, the Hawks hung around all game. Red Deer was up three after the first quarter, but only led by one at halftime.

Turnovers were the biggest difference in the contest with the Queens only turning it over 18 times and the Mountaineers giving up the ball 30 times.

Despite struggling to hold onto the ball, Mohawk stuck around early with Red Deer leading 23-22 after the first quarter. A tough second quarter offensively for the Mountaineers allowed Queens to extend their lead to nine before half.

The Mountaineers would use the third quarter to close the gap, getting as close as one-point, but the Queens would hold on to advance to the bronze medal semi-finals.

Sandra Garcia-Bernal of Red Deer and Angong Jacob from Mohawk were named 4imprint Players of the Game. Garcia-Bernal scored 11-points while Jacob recorded nine-points.

The Mountaineers will now play the Mystics in the 7/8 placement game.

Humber would continue to extend their lead throughout the second half on the back of 44 total points in the paint.
