FANSHAWE 3, NIAGARA 0 (FINAL)

The Niagara College Knights women's and men's volleyball teams were swept at home by the Fanshawe College Falcons.

The women's team was shutout 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-21), while the men's team was defeated 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-19, 25-23).

Outside hitter Lindsay Murray (Welland, Ont.) was the Knights leading scorer with 10 kills and one service ace for 11 points. The Notre Dame graduate also led the team in digs with 13. With the loss the Knights record, falls to 4-3. They remain in fourth place in the OCAA West Region with two games remaining in the first half of the season.

Women's coach Joey Martins blamed the loss on not passing the ball well. "We couldn't run the middle. It was a big part of our offence." Martins said. "If you don't pass the ball well the ball
will be sent elsewhere. The plan was good we just didn't execute it well."

Both teams will look to get back into the win column on Sunday afternoon when they host the St. Clair College Saints from Windsor. The women's game is at 1 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m.
