OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College dominated the service line in their women's volleyball home opener against George Brown on Friday night as they recorded 17 aces in a 3-0 sweep over the Huskies.

Three players making their return to the Lords did most of the damage from the line as Allison Doris, Kerri Fotherby and Meghan Renwick combined for 14 aces.

Outside hitter Leah Saar made her OCAA debut for Durham and led the team with 12 points (10 kills, 2 blocks) while Fotherby had 10 (4 kills, 5 aces, 1 block). Doris had nine points (4 kills, 5 aces) and Renwick finished with seven (2 kills, 4 aces, 1 block).

On the defensive side of the court, Colleen McRobert finished with a team high eight digs.

George Brown's leading scorer was Vanetta Martens with seven points (4 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks) while Vanetta Marterns had nine digs.

The Lords made quick work of the Huskies as they won by sets scores of 25-9, 25-20 and 25-14.

Durham will now head on the road for four games, beginning on Wednesday night as they take on the Trent Excalibur in Peterborough, Ont. First serve is at 6 p.m.
