DURHAM 3, FLEMING 0

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Durham College defeated the Fleming Knights 3-0 on Friday night in OCAA women's volleyball action. Set scores in the match were 25-15, 25-14 and 25-18.

Fleming's defence could not find a way to stop outside hitter Allison Doris (Ajax, Ont.) who registered a game high 14 points in the win. Doris finished the night with nine kills, four aces and one block, while adding a team-high three digs.

Leah Saar (Pickering, Ont.) also had a big night for the Lords with seven kills and one ace while Kerri Fotherby (Newcastle, Ont.) and Natasha Jakovljevic (Oshawa, Ont.) had six points apiece.

Taylor Lyford led the Knights with seven kills in the loss.

The Lords did a good job of staying focused and being aggressive throughout the three sets, not allowing Fleming change momentum in the match.

Durham is 2-1 this season while Fleming falls to 0-4. The Lords will have two games in the nation's capital next weekend as they take on Algonquin (Friday) and La Cite (Saturday).

The Lords next home game is on Saturday, November 24 against the Cambrian Golden Shield. First serve at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre is at 6 p.m.
