REDEEMER 3, ST. CLAIR 0

It was a tough weekend at home for the St. Clair women's volleyball team. The Saints dropped both of their matches to fall to 0-4 on the season.
 
On Saturday, St. Clair hosted the Redeemer University Royals at the St. Clair Gym. Redeemer is ranked 10th in Ontario. The Saints started out slow dropping the first game 25-17. St. Clair got their game together but still dropped the next two sets by scores of 25-22 and 25-23. Alee Brecka (Massey) led the way for the Saints with five kills, two aces, two stuff blocks and 10 digs. Rookie Helen Wiebe (Leamington) had a solid match with six kills and six digs.
 
On Friday, St. Clair took on the Mohawk Mountaineers at the St. Clair gym. The Saints got off to a slow start losing the first two games 25-16 and 25-21. St. Clair woke up in the third game and dominated to win 25-12. However, Mohawk bounced back to win the fourth game 25-18 to win the match. Brecka was the top Saint with 10 kills, three aces and 17 digs.
 
The women are next in action on Saturday and Sunday when they travel to North Bay to take on Nipissing University and Canadore College.
