DURHAM 3, ALGONQUIN 1

OTTAWA, Ont. – Durham College picked up their third conference victory of the season on Friday night with a 3-1 victory over the Algonquin Thunder in OCAA women's volleyball.

After dropping the first set 25-21, Durham was able to bounce back winning the next three sets by scores of 25-8, 26-24 and 25-21.

Leah Saar and Kerri Fotherby had big nights on the scoresheet for Durham recording 19 and 18 offensive points respectively. Saar's 19 points were all kills while Fotherby had 13 kills, four aces and one block.

Durham College athlete of the week Allison Doris had 12 points in the win and Melissa Semeniuk registered nine.

Lords libero Colleen McRobert had a fantastic game in the backcourt with 10 digs.

Durham is 3-1 to start the season and will match-up against the 1-3 La Cite Coyotes on Saturday afternoon. Game time in Ottawa is at 1 p.m.

The Lords next home game is on Saturday, November 24 as they host the Cambrian Golden Shield. First serve at the CRWC is 6 p.m.
