DURHAM 3, LA CITE 1

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's volleyball team won their second game of a weekend road swing as they defeated the La Cite Coyotes 3-1. Set scores in the match were 27-29, 25-14, 25-11 and 25-22.

This was the second straight match Durham dropped the first set, but stormed back with three straight set victories to win 3-1.

Three players notched double-digit points for Durham as they earned their fourth win of the regular season. Allison Doris (Ajax, Ont.) led the team with eight kills, four aces and two blocks while Melissa Semeniuk (Ajax, Ont.) and Rayan Bourne (Whitby, Ont.) had 13 and 12 points respectively. Bourne had a career high five aces in the win.

Defensively, libero Colleen McRobert (Whitby, Ont.) had a team-high nine digs in the win. Leah Saar (Pickering, Ont.) also had a great defensive effort with seven digs to go along with eight kills.

Marine France-Cayer led La Cite with five kills and two aces.

The Lords are 4-1 and in third place in the OCAA eastern conference. Cambrian (5-0) and Trent (4-0) are one-two in the conference standings, the only remaining teams undefeated. La Cite slips to 1-5 on the season.

Durham will host back-to-back games next weekend against Cambrian (Saturday) and Boreal (Sunday) at the CRWC.
