MOHAWK 3, NIAGARA 2

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Mohawk women's volleyball team moved into sole possession of fourth place in the OCAA West Region, with a see-saw, five set win over Niagara on Tuesday, December 4 at the Fennell Gymnasium.

The Mountaineers rallied twice for a 20-25, 25-7, 16-25, 25-22, 15-6 decision over the Knights and ended first semester play with a 5-4 record. The Knights fell to 4-5.

Chantal Baker had 11 kills, one service ace and nine digs to lead Mohawk. Julie Gagnon had seven kills, four aces and 10 digs, while Kristin VanHartingsveldt chipped in with four kills, one ace and four stuff blocks.

For Niagara, Lindsay Murray collected seven kills, two aces, two blocks and 10 digs. Jenna Bray managed six kills, two aces and one block. Ava Sarkis had 11 digs.
