ST. CLAIR 3, MOHAWK 1

The Mohawk Mountaineers and St. Clair Saints divided an afternoon OCAA volleyball doubleheader at the Fennell Gym Saturday (Jan. 19).

The St. Clair women topped Mohawk in four games, 25-18, 22-25, 26-24, 25-20, to improve its record to 3-10, while the Mountaineers fell to 6-6.

Julie Gagnon had 13 kills and five service aces for Mohawk. Melissa DeHaan came up with six kills, one ace and six stuff blocks, Chi Chi Chuks-Mady had eight kills and four aces and Chantal Baker managed 12 digs.

For the visitors from Windsor, Kate Zawyrucha collected eight kills, one ace and three blocks, while Alee Brecka had 11 kills, one ace and 17 digs.

The Mohawk men swept St. Clair 25-17, 26-24, 25-18. The middle set saw the Mountaineers rally from 22-19 and 23-21 deficits to pull out the win. Mohawk moved to 7-5, while St. Clair's mark dropped to 4-9.

Bradley Regier led Mohawk with 12 kills, two service aces and one stuff block. Marcin Jedrzejewski had seven kills, two aces and two blocks and Mo Sulaiman had six kills and two blocks.

For the Saints, Josh Rankine led the way with six kills and one ace. Conner West had six kills, Curtis Loch came up with five kills and one ace and Tom Charbonneau had two kills, two aces and two blocks.
