HUMBER 3, MOHAWK 0

It's never easy visiting the Humber Hawks and Mohawk's volleyball teams don't have to be told that. The Mountaineers men's and women's teams both went down to defeat Thursday (Jan. 24) in Etobicoke.

The men's squad dropped a four-setter, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 25-14. Mo Sulaiman led Mohawk with 15 kills and one stuff block. Phil Youngblut recorded six kills, four service aces and three blocks and Marcin Jedrzejewski had eight kills, two aces, one block and 14 digs.

Matthew Isaacs paced Humber with 10 kills and three blocks and Derek Quinn was a defensive dynamo with 23 digs.

The Mountaineers saw their record drop to 7-6, while the Hawks moved to 9-4.

In women's play, Humber rolled to its 13th victory without defeat, taking three straight sets from Mohawk, 25-9, 25-16, 25-11. Chi Chi Chuks-Mady had five kills and one service ace for the Mountaineers, now 6-7.

Julie Gagnon contributed nine digs. For the Hawks, Hayli Moore had eight kills, five aces and six digs.
