The Fanshawe Falcons women's volleyball team defeated the Conestoga Condors, 25-17, 25-22, 25-19 on Saturday night. The win improved the Falcons record to 12-3 on the season. The Falcons have now clinched at least third place in the OCAA West Division, and sit one game behind Nipissing with three games to go.

Dominant serving streaks from Brandie Ellis and Shelby Charlton resulted in an easy first set victory. In the second, the Falcons trailed 22-19 before winning the final six points of the set, with powerful serving from Ashley Hosfeld.

In the final set, the Falcons faced a 15-12 deficit before taking over and sweeping the Condors in straight sets for the second time this season. Leading scorers on the night for the Falcons were Shelby Charlton 11 points (eight kills, one ace, two blocks), Ashley Hosfeld 11 points (eight kills, two aces, one block) and Stephanie Bignell 10 points (three kills, three aces, four blocks). For the Condors, Ariel Brown-Berkeley led the way with 13 points (12 kills, one ace).

The Falcons will play their next game at home on Feb. 8 against the Niagara Knights (7-8).
