NIPISSING AT CANADORE

Our Panthers women's and men's varsity volleyball teams will be hitting the Education Centre court this coming Tuesday, February 12 for their final leagues games of the 2012-13 season versus Nipissing University at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. It is the final 'Battle of the Bay' in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) as the Nipissing Lakers will be moving to the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) for the 2013-14 season.

Our men's volleyball team is coming off an outstanding win on Sunday, February 10 taking three sets away from Conestoga College. Shawn Hofmann had an amazing game leading the team with 16 kills. Dan Trudel continues to build his OCAA resume with another week sitting in the Top 10 in the leading statistic holders. Trudel is averaging 3.41 kills per set, totaling 167 kills to date, 2.02 digs per set, totaling 99 digs this season with a grand total of 186 points. This team will also be saying goodbye to five-year veteran middle Mike Duffy.

Our mostly rookie women's volleyball team will be looking to finish their season strong with their leading statistic holders Janelle Lalonde, Mackenzie Mills, and Aly Bell as they look ahead to the 2013-14 season.

We would like to extend a big thank you for the amazing support we have received from the Canadore College faculty and staff, North Bay media and community members, and our proud sponsors. We couldn't have done it without you.

We hope you come fill the stands for the last varsity home game and cheer on our Panthers women's and men's volleyball teams. There will be free hot dogs and popcorn served to all supporters.
