FANSHAWE 3, NIAGARA 0

The Fanshawe Falcons women's volleyball team beat the Niagara Knights in three straight sets on Monday night (29-27, 25-21, 25-17). The Falcons improved to 14-3 on the season and are currently ranked No. 11 in the CCAA national rankings.

In the first set, Niagara failed to convert on three set point opportunities and Fanshawe came back to take the first set. Second year player Ashley Hosfeld had eight points in the second longest set the Falcons have played this season.

Niagara faced an eight-point deficit in the second at 16-8. They had the game to within three points several times but failed to complete the comeback. The Falcons completed the sweep of Niagara by taking the final five points in the third set.

Ashley Hosfeld led the Falcons with 19 points in the game (15 kills, four aces). Jenna Bray led the Knights with 14 points (12 kills, two aces).

The Falcons will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night. They will travel to Hamilton to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers (6-11).
