HUMBER 3, MOHAWK 0

ETOBICOKE, Ont. - The six-time defending champion Humber Hawks look like they be flying high again in OCAA women's volleyball this season. The Hawks swept the Mohawk Mountaineers 25-10, 25-18, 25-15 in the regular season opener in Etobicoke Wednesday (Oct. 23).

Natalie Przerwa had three kills, three service aces and one stuff block for Mohawk. Chi Chi Chuks-Mady had four kills and Lindsay Collette recorded seven digs.

For Humber, Thalia Hanniman had 10 kills, eight aces and 10 digs, while Kelly Nyhof scored 11 kills, one ace and two blocks.

"Tonight was extremely disappointing for our team," said Mohawk coach Andrew Nicholson. "We played timid and didn't demand any respect from our opponent. We only played in spurts and were totally dominated for long stretches. We're better than what we showed tonight."
