GEORGE BROWN 3, DURHAM 2

TORONTO - In both of their matches to start the season, the Durham College women's volleyball team has gone the distance needing a fifth set to decide a winner. On Wednesday night at George Brown, the Lords could not hang on to a late lead as the Huskies earned a 3-2 victory.

Set scores in the match were 25-23, 15-25, 20-25, 25-13 and 16-14.

The fifth and deciding set was as close as it gets with the teams trading points back and forth. Durham would pull out to an 8-5 lead, but the Huskies clawed back and ended up taking the final three points to earn a 16-14 victory.

This was Durham's second straight loss in five sets, as they dropped a 3-2 decision to the Trent Excalibur in their OCAA season opener.

Durham will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 8 when they host the Algonquin Thunder. Game time at the CRWC is 6 p.m.

Durham College is proud to host the OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship (Feb. 20-22, 2014) and the OCAA Volleyball/Basketball All-Star Games (March 22, 2014) at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
