FANSHAWE 3, BOREAL 0

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons (3-1) defended home court and defeated the Boréal Vipères (0-4) in straight sets 25-11, 25-8 25-10. The win moves Fanshawe into second place in the OCAA West Division.

The Falcons attack was too much for the Vipères to handle in the first set. Fanshawe left side hitters Kaitlyn Kelly and Ashley Hosfeld over-powered Boréal's block, combining for seven kills in the set. Fanshawe won the first set by a final score of 25-11.

Both teams struggled with control to start the second set, but with the score 12-7, Fanshawe's Hosfeld served 10 straight, including five aces to take a commanding 15-point lead. Fanshawe won the set 25-8.

Fanshawe started the third set out with a number of huge kills and never looked back, winning the set 25-10.

Fanshawe's Stephanie Bignell led the Falcons with 11 points (eight kills, two blocks, one ace).  Boréal's Erica Pomeroy finished with three points for the Vipères.

The Falcons next match takes place on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. versus the Mohawk Mountaineers (2-1). Mohawk sits in third in the OCAA West Division and is led by Chi Chuks-Mady who averages 2.7 points per set.
