ST. CLAIR 3, CAMBRIAN 2

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair women's volleyball team had a very successful home opening weekend winning both of their matches.

On Saturday, the Saints hosted College Boreal from Sudbury. St. Clair played well defeating the Viperes 3-0. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-19, 25-8 and 25-13. Rachel Rivers (Cambridge/Galt Collegiate) led the way offensively for St. Clair with 12 kills, one service ace and six digs. Kaleigh MacKenzie (Windsor/Holy Names) had a solid match as well converting four kills on five attempts. With the loss Boreal's season record fell to 0-3.

On Sunday, St. Clair hosted the Cambrian College Golden Shield from Sudbury. This was a back-and-forth exciting match and the Saints came out on top 3-2. Game scores for St. Clair were 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, 16-25 and 15-3. Rivers led the way offensively once again with 14 kills, two service aces, one stuff block and 22 digs. Sara Yablonsky (Windsor/St. Joseph's) had a good match chipping in with 10 kills, one service ace and two stuff blocks. Cambrian's record fell to 1-3 on the season with the loss.

The St. Clair women are now 3-1 on the season and sit in a tie for second place in the OCAA West Division.

The Saints are next in action on Sunday, Nov. 17 when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga College Condors.
