FANSHAWE 3, CONESTOGA 2

KITCHENER, Ont. - The Fanshawe women's volleyball team (1-1) defeated the Conestoga Condors (0-2) in a five-set marathon match. The Falcons are now tied for fourth in the OCAA West Division.

After winning the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-18, Fanshawe let the Condors back in the match, losing the next two sets 25-15 and 25-22.

With the match tied 2-2, Fanshawe pulled away early in the fifth set and came away with the victory 15-8. Fanshawe was led by left side Kaitlyn Kelly, who had 17 points including 15 kills, one ace and one block.

Fanshawe hosts the Cambrian Golden Shield and the Boreal Vipers this coming weekend. On Saturday at 6 p.m., the Falcons will look to stop Cambrian's Sara Charlton, who averages 4.3 points per set and an OCAA league leading 3.86 kills per set.

In their second matchup of the weekend, Fanshawe will host the Vipers from Sudbury, Ont., at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Boreal has yet to win a set so far this season.
