CANADORE 3, LA CITE 0

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The Canadore Panthers women's varsity volleyball team defeated the La Cite Coyotes in three straight sets on home court today at the Education Centre gymnasium.

Scores were 25-18, 25-17, 25-23 in favour of Canadore. Top scorer for the Panthers was Carrie Ryan with seven points.

After yesterday's win, the Panthers decided to use some of their athletes who haven't had much court time to gain some experience and spread out the points. The third set started a little rocky for the Canadore women's team, as they were falling to the Coyotes by a score of 21-16. However, after a few changes were made, the girls were able to pull together for a comeback to win the set and game by two points.

Canadore head coach Stefanie Hancock says, "We used today to let all the players on our roster get some court time and some of those athletes used their court time well. La Cite put a lot of pressure on our defence during the game. We struggled with our free ball execution but at the end of the day, we were able to push and get the win."

Panthers libero and player of the game, Carley Stickle, thought the team played well today. "Overall we had a strong game with the exception of the beginning of the third set but as a team we were able to come together and pull through for the win."
