ST. CLAIR 3, CONESTOGA 0

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College varsity volleyball teams won both of their matches on Tuesday night against the Conestoga Condors at the St. Clair gym.

The St. Clair women won their match by a score of 3-0. Game scores for Conestoga were 25-21, 27-25, and 25-20. Katie Zawyrucha (Sandwich) had a solid match with 14 kills, one service ace and eight digs.

With the win the St. Clair women improved to 8-8 on the season and are tied for fourth place with Conestoga who fell to 8-7 on the season. The top six teams will make the playoffs. The St. Clair women are ranked 10th in Ontario while Conestoga is ranked eighth.

The St. Clair men hung on to beat the Condors by a score of 3-2. The Saints were up 2-0 but let the Condors back in the match and had to pull it out late. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-16, 25-21, 18-25, 21-25 and 15-11.

Connor West (Lethbridge) had a strong match for the Saints with nine kills, one service ace and 13 digs. The St. Clair men are now 9-7 and in sixth place in the OCAA West Division and are ranked ninth in Ontario. Conestoga fell to 1-14 with the loss. The Saints are ranked ninth in Ontario.

Both teams are back in action on the weekend when then travel to Sheridan and Humber for their final regular season matches on Saturday and Sunday. Both squads are hoping to clinch a playoff berth with at least one win on the trip.
