HUMBER 3, ST. CLAIR 0

ETOBICOKE, Ont. - The Humber Hawks women's volleyball team, who have already clinched the West Division title, rolled to their 17th consecutive win on a night that was billed "Kelly Nyhof Night".

It was almost a perfect outing for the team and for Kelly Nyhof herself, playing in her last home game of her career. The team dominated the St. Clair Saints in each and every set on their way to a 3-0 straight set win – 25-15, 25-11, 25-17. Nyhof, the Humber Player of the Game, led both teams on the scoreboard with 18 points, based on 12 kills, three service aces and three stuff blocks.

The first set was all about setter Carley Uden as she helped the Hawks race out to an 8-0 lead, as her tough serve rattled the Saints early. The set never got closer than six points and the Hawks put it away at 25-15.

The second set proved even more dominant. Once again Humber ran out to an early lead and made it a "no doubter" at 25-11.

The third and final set started quite differently as the hometown Hawks were down 5-0 right away. They battled back, but not before the Saints held a 12-5 lead. The 12-5 lead turned very quickly in the Hawks favour, as the Humber squad outscored the Windsor team 20-5 the rest of the way.

Nyhof was terrific with her 18 point effort. She was an amazing 12 for 22 in her attacks, a phenomenal .545 kill percentage. Veteran Thalia Hanniman joined Nyhoff in double digits, with 12 points.

Humber will now close out the 2013-14 regular season later this week with a road game at Mohawk, before advancing directly to the OCAA championship tournament at Durham in two weeks.
