TRENT 3, DURHAM 0

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Durham College women's volleyball team closed out OCAA conference play with a 3-0 road loss to Trent University in Peterborough on Wednesday night.

The Lords will now turn their attention to the OCAA women's volleyball championship in which they will host at the CRWC from Feb. 20-22. Durham will take on the six-time defending OCAA champion Humber Hawks in the opening round of the championship on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 8 p.m.

The Fanshawe Falcons (No. 2 West Region) and Seneca Sting (No. 1 East Region) have also locked up spots in the three-day championship, with the remaining four teams being determined this weekend in the OCAA qualifying round.

Trent had to battle for every set victory as they won by scores of 25-22, 26-16 and 25-23. The win capped off an amazing regular season for the Excalibur as they posted a 16-2 record. Their only two losses came against Seneca, who would end up winning the regional title with a matching 16-2 record.

Durham finishes the regular season with a 9-9 record, with three of their losses coming in five sets including the season opener against Trent on Oct. 24.

Durham College is proud to host the OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship (Feb. 20-22) and the OCAA Volleyball/Basketball All-Star Games (Mar. 22) at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.
