SUDBURY, Ont. - The Fanshawe Falcons women's volleyball team won both road matches this past weekend in straight sets to extend their win streak to 10 matches, setting the Fanshawe College record for most consecutive women's volleyball matches won in a season.

With the Humber Hawks not playing last week, the win moved Fanshawe into first place in the OCAA West Division with 20 points.

Fanshawe defeated the Boréal Vipères on Saturday night 25-15, 25-17 and 25-18. A balanced attack was led by Shelby Charlton who finished with 11 points (10 kills, one service ace).

On Sunday, the Falcons continued to roll, defeating the Cambrian Golden Shield in straight sets (25-7, 25-18, 25-20). Charlton scored a game-high 16 points (11 kills, three service aces, two blocks).

The Falcons don't play again until Jan. 23 at 6 p.m., when they host the St. Clair Saints (5-5). The Saints are led by Rachel Rivers, who averages 3.5 points per set.
