FANSHAWE 3, REDEEMER 1

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Fanshawe women's volleyball team clinched second place in the OCAA West Division after defeating the Redeemer Royals (12-5) in four sets on Saturday.

Fanshawe will now have a bye into the OCAA provincial championship on Feb. 20-22 at Durham College.

In a battle for second in the West Division, the match-up was set to be a close one from the start. Redeemer took the first set off the Falcons 25-22, but Fanshawe came right back, taking the next three sets by scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-23.

Fanshawe's Kaitlyn Kelly had 20 points in the match and increased her season average to 4.5 points per set, good for second in the OCAA.

The Falcons will visit the Sheridan Bruins (3-14) next Wednesday for their final regular season game of the year. Fanshawe will then prepare for the OCAA provincial championship.
