MOHAWK 3, FANSHAWE 1

LONDON, Ont. - The Mohawk women's volleyball team stunned the Fanshawe Falcons 25-23, 25-18, 22-25, 25-23 in OCAA women's volleyball in London, Ont., on Saturday.

After a poor outing at St. Clair the night previous, Mohawk head coach Andrew Nicholson called Saturday's performance the ultimate bounce back.

"This team is so focussed and cohesive that (the result) of Friday's match didn't phase them at all, said Nicholson. "We ran our game plan to perfection and never panicked, even when Fanshawe took set three."

Brittany Gingrich was Mohawk's top offensive weapon with 10 kills, one service ace and one stuff block. Jasmine Zanussi had five kills and 11 defensive digs.

The Mountaineers upped their record to 6-9, while the Falcons slipped to 11-4. Fanshawe had won eight of their last 10 outings and were riding a three-game win streak.
