CAMBRIAN 3, ST. CLAIR 2

SUDBURY, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's volleyball team travelled to Sudbury, Ont., this weekend and came away with a split to secure a spot in the OCAA playoffs.

On Saturday, the Saints took on the Collège Boréal Vipères. St. Clair came away with a 3-1 win. Game scores for St. Clair were 21-12, 19-25, 25-17 and 25-13. With the loss Boréal's record fell to 0-18.

On Sunday, the Saints faced the Cambrian College Golden Shield in a battle for fourth place. St. Clair came out on the short end of this one suffering a tough 3-2 loss. Game scores for Cambrian were 28-26, 22-25, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-7. With the win Shield ended their season with a record of 10-8.

With the split the Saints have ended their regular season with a record of 10-8 and are currently in a three-way tie for fourth place in the tight OCAA West Division with two other teams. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs. However, there is one game remaining in the division on Tuesday night that could see the Sheridan Bruins make it a four-way tie for fourth place. Based on tiebreakers, St. Clair will either finish in fifth or sixth place and have to go on the road next weekend in a playoff cross over match to quality for the OCAA championship.
