"We found a way to win in a tough gym," said coach Schnarr. "We won our first match in a tough three game road swing. We need to keep our heads up and keep working, We can't take any nights off."

The Mountaineer men improved their record to 2-0.

The Mohawk women's volleyball squad, also coached by Schnarr, has shown marked improvement this early season, but saw their record drop to 1-1 after a tough five set defeat at Niagara.

The Knights prevailed 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17,15-11.

Veteran Kirsten Bialachowski continued her fine play with nine kills, three aces, one block and 10 digs. Sarah Bate had nine kills and three aces and Amanda Kuiper came up with seven aces. Alessandra Assaf contributed 13 digs.
