ST. CLAIR 3, MOHAWK 1

The St. Clair College women's volleyball team were on the road this past weekend to take on the Mohawk Mountaineers and the Niagara College Knights.

On Saturday night, the Saints took on the Mohawk Mountaineers in Hamilton, Ont. St. Clair came away with a solid 3-1 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-22, 25-23, 22-25 and 25-19. Mohawk is currently ranked fifth in the OCAA. With the loss Mohawk fell to 7-6 on the season.

On Sunday afternoon, St. Clair was in Welland, Ont. to take on the top-ranked Niagara Knights. The Saints played well against a strong Niagara team but fell to the Knights 3-1. Game scores for Niagara were 25-21, 19-25, 27-25 and 25-18. Niagara is ranked second in the OCAA and 11th in Canada. The Knights are now 11-1 on the season.

With the weekend split, the Saints are now 9-3 on the season and in third place in the OCAA West Division. The women are currently ranked fourth in the OCAA.

St. Clair is next in action on Saturday, Jan. 28 when they host the Humber Hawks at 1 p.m. at the SportsPlex. The Hawks are ranked first in the OCAA and first in Canada. The match will be broadcast live on www.we-tv.ca.
