Fanshawe's Jocelyn Fry earned her second
individual cross country title in as many weeks, using her home
course to her advantage at the Fanshawe Invitational held at the
Fanshawe Conservation Area in London, Ont. on Saturday.
Fry won the 5 km race in a time of 19:55, nine seconds ahead of
Carly Gill of Lambton. George Brown's Liz
Seguin (20:17) finished in third place.
Humber took the women's team title, led by Darian
Limb and her fourth-place time of 20:17. Fanshawe and
Redeemer placed second and third in the women's team standings,
respectively.
St. Clair's Andrew Degroot took the 8 km men's
race in a time of 25:17, twenty-five seconds ahead of Fanshawe's
Clint Smith. Teammate Josh Lumani
finished in third place with a time of 25:53 as Fanshawe captured
the men's team title.
Humber earned second spot among the men's teams, followed by
Fleming.
Seneca hosts the next OCAA cross country invitational this
Saturday.
Algoma University plays host to the 2012 OCAA Cross Country
Championships in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. on October 20.
