ETOBICOKE, Ont. - Jessie Wilcox of Mohawk College finished 20th in a field of 116 men's runners at the New Balance Toronto CCAA National Cross Country Championships at Humber College Saturday (Nov. 9).
Wilcox completed the eight kilometre course at the Humber
Arboretum in 27:38.25. His brother Bradley Wilcox
was 52nd in 29:10.10.

Stephan St-Martin of Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy in
Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Que. won the race, timed in 25:37.47.
The top OCAA runner was Fanshawe's Clint Smith,
timed in 25:41.98.
Smith led Fanshawe to the men's team title. Mohawk was 11th, out
of 21 teams competing. Ontario runners, again led by Smith, were
just nosed out by Quebec for the men's conference national
championship.
Mohawk had no women entered. Leslie Koopman of MacEwan University
won the women's individual title, timed in 19:17.95 for five
kilometres. She was less than one second ahead of teammate Vanessa
Trofimenkoff and Marriya Jenkins of Concordia University College of
Alberta in a one-two-three finish by Edmonton athletes.
Courtney Brohart of St. Lawrence-Kingston, led the
Ontario contingent finishing in 10th place.
UBC Okanagan was the female team champion.
Alberta Conference runners took the women's conference national
championship. The OCAA wound up third.
