GEORGIAN OPENS CROSS COUNTRY SEASON IN LONDON

LONDON, Ont. - Competing in their first event of the 2014 OCAA season, the Georgian Grizzlies men's cross country team had a good showing finishing in fifth place at the Fanshawe Invitational in London, Ont. on Saturday.

Georgian's team finished the eight kilometre track with an average time of 31:15 just over a minute back of the first place team from Humber College.

Last year's top runner from the Grizzlies, Ryan Fennell (Aurora, Ont.) showed he will be a contender again this year finishing in 10th place, just a minute back of the top runner.

Georgian also had top 25 finishes from returnees Evan Lynch (Alliston, Ont.) and Zach Buchan (Orillia, Ont.) who will be counted on to help the Grizzlies get into medal contention this year.

The Grizzlies will travel to Kingston, Ont., next Saturday to compete in the St. Lawrence College Invitational.
