FANSHAWE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY WINS CCAA NATIONAL SILVER MEDAL

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe cross country team competed in the CCAA national championships last weekend at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary.

On the men's side, Fanshawe captured the silver medal, narrowly missing out on repeating as national champions. Ryan Foott was Fanshawe's lead runner, finishing in sixth place individually and was named a CCAA first-team all-star.

Foott was followed by Fanshawe's Luke Deighan, who finished eighth and was named a CCAA second-team all-star. Rounding out the men's squad was Seth Marcaccio (22nd), Caleb Trotter (62nd), Josh Heuving (69th) and Jamie McNorgan (76th). The Fanshawe men's program has now won a team medal at 10 consecutive national championships.

On the women's side, Fanshawe's Nicole Bernardi finished 10th individually and was named a CCAA second-team all-star. Bernardi's teammate Morgan Hendriks also had a great race finishing 18th.

Both teams were led by head coach John Loney.
