NATIONAL GOLD MEDAL GAME RESCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY @ TRENT

The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Men’s Soccer national gold medal game between Algonquin College (Ottawa, ON) and Champlain Regional College (St. Lambert, PQ) has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 17 at the Trent University Athletic Centre in Peterborough, ON. Kick-off will be at 1:00pm. Severe weather conditions in Nova Scotia last weekend caused the Championship Host Organizing Committee to cancel the originally scheduled game on Saturday afternoon.

Algonquin College is making its fourth consecutive trip to the national gold medal game and head in as the defending national champions, beating Champlain College 4-0 in the 2006 championship game in Vancouver, BC. On Saturday, the Thunder look to become the first Ontario men’s soccer team to win consecutive national championships.

En route to the gold medal game, the Ontario champions rolled through the round robin portion of the tournament defeating the University of New Brunswick (Saint John, NB) 3-0 and Thompson Rivers University (Kamloops, BC) 3-1. Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Championship MVP Will Beauge (Ottawa, ON) has made a significant impact at the national level scoring four goals at the championship, including a hat-trick in Algonquin’s opening game.

The OCAA and Sportslive.ca is proud to announce that the game will be streaming online via sportslive.ca in it’s entirety. Fans can also visit OCAA.com for instant updates, analysis and live statistics during the game.
