TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 2.
MALE: Abdul Ibrahim, Algonquin
Abdul Ibrahim scored three goals in two road
matches this weekend as Algonquin improved to 3-0-0 on the regular
season. Ibrahim scored once in a 2-0 win at Fleming-Peterborough on
Friday, and followed this up with a two-goal performance in a 6-0
victory over Durham on Saturday. Ibrahim is the reigning OCAA East
region rookie of the year and OCAA all-star.
FEMALE: Shawna Druif, Redeemer
Goalkeeper Shawna Druif has not allowed a goal in
three matches this season, as Redeemer has jumped out to a 3-0-0
record. Redeemer opened the season with a 3-0 win against Niagara
last Tuesday, followed by a 2-0 victory over Lambton on Friday and
a 1-0 win over St. Clair on Saturday. All three matches were played
at Redeemer. Druif faces a tough test against defending OCAA
champion Humber on Wednesday.
