AMHERSTBURG, Ont. - St. Clair College men's soccer player
Rob Malbasic tied and broke the OCAA career men's
goal scoring record on Tuesday afternoon in Amherstburg during the
Saints match against the Lambton Lions. The Saints defeated the
Lions by a score of 5-1. Malbasic, a Windsor native and St.
Joseph's graduate, tied the record during the 6th minute of the
first half on a nice header off of a cross. It was his 47th career
goal. He then scored late in the first half to break the record and
score is 48th career goal in the OCAA. To top off his record
breaking day Malbasic scored in the 75th minute to make it a hat
trick. Malbasic is competing in his fifth and final season for the
Saints. The other goal scorers for St. Clair were Brian
Santos and Ante Ivcec.
The previous record holder was OCAA Hall of Famer
Mike Everson from Fleming College. Malbasic's best

his rookie campaign when in 2007-08 he debuted with 12 goals. The
forward added another 10 to his career total the following season,
and scored six times in 2010-11.
The win moved the Saints to 2-3 on the season and kept their
playoff hopes alive. The St. Clair men are next in action when then

Oct 11. The Falcons are also sitting with a record of 2-3 on the
season.
