TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 23.
MALE: Jordan Lidia, St. Clair
St. Clair travelled approximately 800 km for its OCAA men's soccer
quarter-final game against Algonquin on Oct. 22. Jordan
Lidia (Leamington, Ont.) made the trip worthwhile, netting
a hat trick in a 3-1 win, sending St. Clair to the OCAA
championship tournament for the first time since 2008. St. Clair
faces Sheridan in an OCAA semi-final match on Oct. 28.
FEMALE: Jory-Lynn Uyl, Fanshawe
Jory-Lynn Uyl (Blyth, Ont.) scored two goals,
including one in overtime, to lift Fanshawe to a 2-1 win over
Durham on home turf in its OCAA women's soccer quarter-final match
on Oct. 22. The win puts Fanshawe in its third straight OCAA
championship tournament. Fanshawe will meet Algonquin in a rematch
of its 2010 OCAA semi-final game on Oct. 28.
