TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) soccer student-athletes of the week for
the period ending Sunday, Oct. 30.
MALE: Stavros Badunas, Humber
Humber first-year defender Stavros Badunas
(Brampton, Ont.) was named championship MVP at the 2011 OCAA
Men’s Soccer Championship Oct. 28-29. Badunas scored once in
a 5-0 semi-final win over Conestoga. Badunas led a strong Humber
defence that did not allow a goal in either match at the OCAA
championship as it won its second straight provincial title. Humber
defeated Sheridan 1-0 in the final.
FEMALE: Keyla Moreno, Humber
Humber fourth-year forward Keyla Moreno (Toronto)
was named championship MVP at the 2011 OCAA Women’s Soccer
Championship Oct. 28-29. She scored the winning goal in a 2-0
semi-final win over Seneca, and was one of four Hawks to score in
penalty kicks in a 2-1 win over Algonquin in the final. Moreno is
also the 2011 OCAA player of the year, a Canadian Collegiate
Athletic Association (CCAA) all-Canadian and an OCAA all-star.
