DURHAM 3, GEORGE BROWN 0

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men's soccer team earned their first victory of the year as they defeated the George Brown Huskies by a score of 3-0 on Thursday night.

Goalkeeper Brett Smith earned his first shutout of the season, as he made several key stops throughout the game for the Lords.

Durham pushed hard in the opening half as they had the majority of the possession. The Lords hard work would pay off as Luke Morrison scored on a quick free kick, as he caught the George Brown defence off guard.

In the second half, the Lords offence continued to attack as they were rewarded with two penalty kicks coming off of fouls inside the box. The Lords coaching staff turned to captain Duncan Mitchell to take the kicks, and he made no mistake burying both penalty shots to put the game on ice.

Durham is 1-2-0 to start the season and will take on Fleming on Saturday afternoon at the Civic.
