ST. CLAIR 3, DURHAM 0

The St. Clair Saints men's soccer team is off to the OCAA championship on October 26 and 27 after winning  their quarterfinal game on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Saints defeated the Durham Lords by a score of 3-0 at the United Communities Credit Union Complex in Amherstburg, Ont.

Jordan Lidia (Cardinal Carter) opening the scoring for St. Clair at the 12-minute mark on a nice free kick. St. Clair had several great chances throughout the rest of the first half but could not put one in the net. The score was 1-0 for the Saints at halftime.

St. Clair had a couple of great chances at the beginning of the second half including hitting a cross bar but Durham hung on for most of the half. The Saints sealed the win in the 78th minute on a goal by Brian Santos (Cardinal Carter). Santos now has nine goals in nine games on the season. Chadi Kawas (EJ Lajeunesse) put the game away for good making it 3-0 in the 83rd minute.
 
St. Clair is currently ranked first in Ontario and seventh in Canada.  
 
The OCAA championship is being hosted by Redeemer University College in Ancaster, Ont. St. Clair will take on the winner of the Seneca and Mohawk match that is being played on Sunday afternoon at Seneca in the OCAA semifinal on Friday afternoon. Should St. Clair win the semi-final game they will automatically advance to the CCAA National Championships at Douglas College in British Columbia as the OCAA has two bids for this event.
