CENTENNIAL 2, DURHAM 1

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College men's soccer team could not keep their perfect season alive as they dropped a 2-1 decision to the Centennial Colts on Thursday night.

Durham fell behind early in the game when Shaquille Agard scored in the first minute of the game, burying a header past starting goalkeeper Zaud Halabi. The Colts would add to their lead at the 36 minute mark, as they took a 2-0 leading into halftime.

In the second half, Marco Trotta (Oshawa, Ont.) got the Lords on the board as he scored with 20 minutes left on the clock. The goal marked Trotta's third in two games this season.

Durham would continue to have a number of chances down the stretch, but the team was never able to get the equalizer as they lost their first game of the year.

Peter Katsaras was impressive in net for the Colts, making a number of key saves especially late in the second half.

Durham is now 1-1-0 while the Colts improve to 2-0-0. Durham will now take on the Fleming Knights in Peterborough on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Fleming is 2-0-0 this season.
