HUMBER 1, SHERIDAN 0 (PK)

OTTAWA - It was a sunny but cold day to start the provincial weekend but the men fought through it to make it a great soccer day.

In the first match of the weekend Sheridan faced Humber in an exciting game. At the end of the 90-minute mark the game was tied 0-0. The teams played an additional 30 minutes but still the game ended with no score.

The game went into penalty kicks where Humber prevailed and came out on top. Humber was first to shoot. When Sheridan missed their fourth shot it was an easy win for the Hawks. Humber moves onto the gold medal match.

At 2 p.m. the Algonquin Thunder faced off against the Fanshawe Falcons. The game started slow with no score at the halfway mark, but the second half was a different story. Thunder defender Isaac Johnson capitalized on an opportunity and put the ball in the net to make it a 1-0 game for Algonquin.

Shortly after, OCAA Player of the Year Abraham Kamara wasted no time and scored another goal for Algonquin Thunder. At the end of the 90-minute mark it was a 2-0 match as the Thunder move onto the gold medal match.

Today the action continues as Fanshawe and Sheridan duke it out for the bronze medal at 11 a.m. Following the bronze match, Algonquin will take on long time rival Humber College for the coveted gold medal. The winner will move onto the CCAA national championship hosted by the University of New Brunswick, St. John's Campus Nov. 6-9.
