ALGONQUIN 3, DURHAM 0

OTTAWA - A couple of turnovers would cost the Durham College men's soccer team their first loss of the season as the No. 9-ranked Algonquin Thunder earned a 3-0 shutout victory on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday's match was a battle for first place with both teams entering the game with 2-0-0 records. Algonquin now occupies the top spot at 3-0-0 while Durham falls back into a tie for second place with Seneca at 2-1-0.

Up against a team that will capitalize on any opportunity you give them, Durham coughed up two balls in the defensive end in which the Thunder took full advantage of. The Lords also seemed frustrated and off their game, as they committed several fouls which resulted in four yellow cards.

Up next for Durham will be a road match on Saturday against Centennial College in Scarborough, Ont. The Colts have only played one game this season, which was a 2-2 draw against St. Lawrence.
